Affiliate Marketing is blowing up in popularity as the hot new way to make money on the internet. The reasons for people embracing it are numerous, but its mostly for the benefit of being able to work from home for a little extra money on the side or to make a full time income if they get good enough at it. Even though there are a lot of people out there talking about how difficult it can be, it doesn't have to be if you know where to start! Let me introduce you into the world of affiliate marketing and show you that it can be simple and maybe even a bit fun if you're into that sort of computer nerdy type thing. So the term affiliate marketing probably sounds pretty big and bad at first, but have no fear, it is generally used pretty loosely to mean tons of different things. In layman's terms all it means is that you are selling a company's products, and in exchange for your salesmanship, they are going to give you a nice little compensation. Pretty sweet huh? This is where everyone brings up the question of, "How do I sell this stuff dude?" Well hold your horses Tonto, let's bring up an even better question first; what is it that you want to sell? Even better, how do we know what companies want us to sell their stuff? The easiest part is finding an affiliate program to join, since there are so many out there. Zappo's? Definitely. Amazon? Check. Wanda's Wonderful World of Widgets? Sure. Let's give it a whirl. Go check out your favorite online retailer and search their website for a link for affiliates. Once you find your affiliate program page, read through the retailer's rules and conditions and all that good stuff, and make sure you find out how much they pay out in commission on each sale. Some programs offer a great rate, but some programs offer terrible rates. In this case it pays off in the end to research these programs thoroughly. We now have a product to promote, voila! Now the fun begins, we get to let the world know why they need this product in their life. What we're going to do is write an article explaining why everyone should buy this. This is where good, creative writing skills are going to help increase your income tenfold. What happens now is that you need to go to Google and type in "article directory". These are where people submit articles on most every topic, which you should also do now. The more you submit your article to, the more money you can potentially make. In all seriousness, if you wanna make some cash you'll have to submit these to quite a few directories. Each directory should have a resource box for each article you submit, always remember to add your affiliate link in here. Was this so bad?Nope!You just did what we call article marketing, a very popular technique that once you have down to a science can yield great results.
