Protecting Our Children by conducting a background check

In the event that their nanny or babysitter has molested your child, will it be then you wish you had conducted a thorough background check before hiring that person? It is always advisable to conduct a background check on a nanny regardless of whether this person comes highly recommended by trusted person.
