You will use a hydraulic cement to fill in the damaged area. Follow the mixing directions carefully. The mixture will need to have just enough consistency to create a fairly firm ball. Begin inserting the mixture into the opening until it is completely filled. Use a trowel to remove any extra mortar before the cement begins to gets hard. When it is thoroughly hardened, use the brush to buff the area off. If a crack anywhere on the blocks or mortar does not appear to be your problem, the wetness and water flow can be caused from your gutters or the landscaping around the residence foundation. Putting an extension to the bottom of a gutter is good to keep the water away from the foundation. If this does not work either, now is the time when you need to contact that water damage professional to better identify the problem.
